The Inspiring Origin of Wildlife World
The story of Wildlife World Zoo began with Mickey Ollson, a dedicated teacher with a passion for birds. In 1970, he founded a bird mating farm on just five acres in Glendale, Arizona. His vision quickly expanded, acquiring 25 acres in Litchfield Park by 1973.
Ollson meticulously grew his collection by breeding and trading wildlife with other zoos, eventually boasting an impressive array of animals by 1984 – though for years, it remained a “zoo nobody could visit.” That all changed when the park officially opened its doors to the public, continually expanding by acquiring surrounding land to become the magnificent facility it is today.
