The courses are located at the top of the 1,149 foot (350 meters) Stratosphere Tower, providing for some exciting views. The first is a tethered course that covers 852 feet (260 meters) . This course includes four zip lines and two sky bridges.
The second course is a ground-based dual cable track which covers 1,149 feet (350 meters) and includes nine zip lines. Each one hundred-foot (30 meter) long zip line carries you over the edge of the tower, out over Las Vegas Boulevard, and up to 50 miles per hour (80 kph) alongside the tower before returning you back to the starting point.
The Vegas Zip Line experience typically lasts about 45 minutes and can accommodate up to four guests at a time. The course is open seven days a week from 9:00 AM until 11:00 PM (the tethered course) and until 12:30 AM (the dual cable track). Guests must be at least 48 inches (1.2 meters) tall and weigh between 95 and 260 pounds (43-118 kilograms).
Visitors must be at least 18 years of age to ride the dual cable track, 19 is recommended. The dual cable course requires riders to climb stairs up two flights to get to the starting line. Because this is an outdoor attraction, visitors should expect changing weather conditions.
Advance reservations are required for both courses and can be made online or by calling 702-380-7777 . A limited number of walk-up slots are also available each day, on a first-come first-serve basis. Strollers are not permitted on the course.
Price: $25.95 general public, $24.95 Stratosphere guests and locals with a Nevada ID , $18.95 children ages 4-12, and Stratosphere employees ride for free.
All riders must sign a liability waiver before zipping. A photo ID is required to verify your age for the tethered course. The dual cable track requires all riders to complete a strenuous pre-ride training program, including six practice runs of up to 400 ft (122 meters) in length.
The tethered course is limited to just eight guests at a time, including one instructor and seven riders. The ground-based dual cable track accommodates up to 12 riders at once, but this would be dependent on the number of instructors available that day.
Riders receive safety gear for both courses, including a full body harness and lanyard, helmet with chin strap and gloves. The tethered course has an automatic braking system, while the dual cable track uses manual hand brakes.
Neither course is equipped to handle wheelchairs or walkers. Stratosphere Hotel guests receive 30% off the regular price of the zip line courses. Guests must present a valid credit card and a photo ID at the time of booking. Cancellations must be made 24 hours before ride time to avoid charges.
